Epping Forest Youth Council has been awarded £1,000 for their anti-bullying campaign.

The group were awarded the cheque at the High Sheriffs’ Awards ceremony in Chelmsford following the creation of their #URNotALone Bullying Awareness project, which saw more than 1,200 wristband memory sticks promoting Bullying Awareness websites produced and distributed.

The team were also awarded the High Sheriff’s Shield at the ceremony which gives tributes and thanks to people who have made a major contribution to community safety and crime prevention in Essex.

The £1,000 cheque will go towards helping to raise awareness of the impact of bullying amongst young people.

The awards were presented to youth councillors Matthew Tinker, Joseph Pascoe and Jaymey McIvor along with Di Butler and Louis Walton from the Epping Forest District Community Health and Wellbeing Team.
