A fresh crowdfunding campaign has been launched by a group of mothers to raise further money to transform a playground.
Wanstead Playground Association has set a new target of £26,000 on Spacehive after hitting its initial £14,000 to refurbish Wanstead Playground, on Christchurch Green.
With a deadline of mid-May, the group of mothers hope to raise sufficient funds for a new climbing frame to replace the “very tired” bridge frame.
The second crowdfund is being launched as news was announced that Tesco Express, in High Road, Wanstead, has donated £2,710 to buy a new set of swings.
Overall, they are hoping to raise between £80,000 and £100,000 in order to revamp the whole playground.
The group is planning to continue fundraising until the autumn with a view to installing the new equipment in spring 2016.
