TWO teenagers will be aiming for singing stardom when they audition for a television show next week.

Cardan Barnes, 14, of Leucha Road, Walthamstow, and Loren Wright, also 14, of nearby Hawarden Road, are both auditioning for the new Simon Cowell show Britain's Got Talent.

Britain's Got Talent is open to people of all ages and talents and will culminate in an X-Factor-style studio show. People wanting to take part apply, and successful candidates are then invited to audition.

Thousands of talented people across the UK are currently taking part in the first round of auditions.

Cardan, who attends Heathcote School, Chingford, is expected to sing a Luther Vandross number at his audition at the Business Design Centre, in Islington, on Monday, while Loren will perform Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You at the same venue on Tuesday.

Loren's mother Teresa Harris said: "They are both excited and very nervous, although they are not showing it too much."

Both Loren and Cardan are involved with the Estate of the Arts youth programme that provides vocal, drama and dance training.

They are dedicating their audition performances to Estate of the Arts director Tony Lee, who died suddenly last August.
