West Essex 2 Broomfield 0 (Rural Friendly League U10): Two complete performances saw West Essex inflict the first defeat of the season on Broomfield. In the first match, Colts worked hard all over the pitch with some smart passing. They were dominant in defence with Saggers and Bell in commanding form at the back. There was no score in the first game and in the opening period of the second it didn't look as if the stalemate would be broken. However, the hard working Flood went on a solo run down the right wing. He moved in on goal and finished with a low hard shot which skimmed into the net off the goalkeeper.

Within a few minutes Colts had increased their lead to two goals. A hand ball gave them a penalty and Flood cooly rapped the spot kick home. Colts's MoM: Shuttleworth and Smith.

Woodford Youth C - 0 Colebrook Royals A 5 (Friendly U9): CRFC started brightly and took the lead from a good team move that resulted in Bentley blasting the ball into the net. In the second half the Royal's passing and movement was sublime. Bentley scored two further goals to complete his hat- trick while Acons slotted home to make it five. Special mention must be made to Royal's fourth goal. Oomer and Bex combined well to release Homer. He threaded the ball through to Marshall who in one movement played the ball wide to Acons whose pinpoint pass found Bentley to score with a fierce shot. Total football! Credit to Woodford who never gave up and forced goalkeeper Choudhury into making two excellent late saves.

Woodford Youth 0 Ryan F.C. 0 (Friendly U6): A good Ryan performance kept the Foxes frustrated for long periods of time. Woodford MoM Cannon worked hard to clear his lines. Anything that did get through was dealt with by keeper Misslebrook. The majority of play was in the midfield with Solanki, Capt Parsons, Thomas, McDiar-muid, Dady, Walters and Lafleve working hard. Ryan looked the more likely to score, but the Foxes defended well to see the game finish scoreless.

Barn Sports A 0 Woodford Youth B 0 (Echo Friendly U7): An evenly contested first half saw Giles send Papamichael on a one-on- one with the goalkeeper, who thwarted his shot with a good stop.

A Spalding chance from the edge of the box went wide. Woodford kept their shape and discipline well and deservedly ended the half at 0 - 0.

Henry and Spalding were getting into good wide positions stretching the home defence, but without goal success.

Lewis-Green made a couple of good stops towards the final whistle. Woodford MoM: Papamichael.

Woodford Youth B 3 Dagenham B 1 (Echo League U10): Woodford started the game well and took an early lead. Rahim combined well on the left with Morales who sent a cross over to the far past for Constantinou to smash the ball home. Dagenham began to get on top forcing a succession of corners that were dealt with well by the Foxes. The visitors finally got a deserved leveller just before half time. The second half belonged to Woodford regaining the lead with a great team move, started by Goody, finishing with a composed Burgess goal. A third goal arrived a few minutes later courtesy of Morales.

Woodford Youth C 2 Bardag 0 (Echo League U10): Lone striker Caston was unlucky on several occasions while Shatford, Purkiss and Ali played some neat football at times. The breakthrough came when Ali produced a wonderful solo goal. This prompted Bardag to attack but they met their match with Hamilton and MoM Hindmarsh. Woodford continued to push Bardag back and on came Fricker who was like a fox in the box to head in the second and final goal of the match.

Euro Dagenham 2 Woodford Youth 7 (Echo League U12): A sensational performance by the Foxes saw them get back on the winning trail, McVaigh scoring the first three goals and MoM Gound running mid-field.

Woodford kept up the high tempo at the start of the second half and were rewarded after only two minutes when a magnificent ball from Ground found McVaigh. With an amazing turn of pace he pushed the ball forward before smashing an unstoppable shot into the Euro net for his fourth. Euro again rallied and scored a well-worked goal. Five minutes later, McVaigh burst through the Euro defence for his fifth goal. Ironside and Osbourne netted two more for the Foxes, with Euro earning a consolation goal.

UPR C 2 Woodford Youth A 2 (Woodford win on penalties) (Echo Cup Semi Final U9): The opening moments were tense as each team tried to gain the advantage. There were perhaps two real chances for Woodford from Stockings and Mayanja but both were dealt with by the home side. UPR piled on the pressure and a corner was lobbed into the box for UPR to head home.

The Foxes came out confidently in the second half, winning a free kick which MoM Breton-Jones curled into the back of the net to equalise. Woodford earned a throw on the break which found Breton-Jones who skipped past players to finish well. However, UPR piled on the pressure, eventually equalising just before full-time. A penalty shootout saw Woodford win a place in the final.

Weald Bassett 4 Raiders 3 (Chelmsford Youth League U13): Bassett went two points clear at the top of the league with this victory in a thrilling match, Skipper Vickery opened the scoring early, running through and lobbing the keeper before turning provider for Cook to make it 2-0. The visitors made a fight of it and levelled with two quick goals before the break. This jolted Bassett and Matthews and O'Donoghue came close before Cook's snap-shot caught the defence off guard. Vickery steered his second goal past the keeper, following some good passing by Weald. MoM Hayden kept the Bassett advantage, with three top class saves. A late penalty for Raiders brought the scoring and the game to an end.

St Marys 1 Ryan FC 9 (Cheshunt League Div 2 U13): On a pitch covered in thick mud, high flying St Marys were sent reeling by a Ryan side that are unbeaten in 2007. The confident visitors settled straight into their neat passing game and took the lead through Browne. Gough then set up Holloway for his 27th goal of the season with Ryan battling and hungry in midfield. Spillane caused problems and fired home the third as St Marys had no answer to Ryan's quick and positive play with Clark, Eaton and Ahmed outstanding.

Morris came on as sub after the break and helped himself to a hat-trick with some powerful and silky play. Every attack Ryan created was effective and St Marys found the going too much but they did pull a goal back. Yet that sparked Ryan again and a brilliant move was finished by the busy Holloway. The home side were not being allowed to play and centre back Jake Fuller pushed forward and helped himself to two fine strikes. A job well completed by a solid hardworking Ryan side whose MoM was Ahmed.

Woodford Youth 6 Clockwork Colts 0 (Friendly U11): The game started evenly with both sides sharing early possession but it was the Foxes who opened the scoring through Hursit shortly followed by a second from MoM. Webb. Woodford used this big pitch to their advantage with Miller and Hursit looking to release Snow and Hammond who were getting into some great wide positions.

Hammond kept alert to score Woodford'd third. Foxes came roaring out of the blocks for the second half with Webb adding a fourth with a powerful strike to earn himself a brace.

His hat-trick soon followed.

McDermott put Woodford into a 6-0 lead after a fantastic solo run down the right wing.

Woodford Youth 4 Euro Dagenham 3 (Echo League U11): Woodford had the lions share of possession early on, with Snow and Hammond working very hard on either flank. MoM Miller was really enjoying his battle with Euro's striker. Woodford eventually took the lead through Webb. A 25-yard Miller free kick was rifled home to give Woodford a 2-0 lead. Euro enjoyed a good spell of pressure that resulted in a goal. The Foxes responded with Shakes scoring a third. Woodford dangerously took their foot off the pedal and Euro threw everything at Woodford and scored twice. With just seconds remaining a Shakes header put the Foxes back in front.
