West Ham United 4 Writtle Minors 3 (U11 Friendly)

With a crunch League Cup tie against League leaders, Senrab, now only a fortnight away, U11 manager Angela Murphy arranged two half term friendly games to get her girls ready to finally beat the League leaders.

The first of these games was against joint North Essex League leaders Writtle Minors and Manager Angela was delighted with her team's performance.

Leah Wilson hit a hat- trick with the first of her goals coming after only six minutes, but a minute later the visitors equalised. Leah's second goal of the day came just before half time to give the Hammers a 2-1 lead.

The visitors scored twice in quick succession early on in the second half to see Writtle seeming to be coasting with a 3-2 lead. However, Leah Wilson completed her hat-trick with a very rare headed goal. But while it would be Leah who would be claiming the match ball, the last word went to Hayley Swords who hit a last gasp winner.

Next week the Hammers entertain the other joint North Essex League leaders, Colchester Town in their last game before meeting Senrab on Sunday February 25.
