REVISED plans for eight two-bedroom flats in two blocks at 1 Church Hill, Loughton, have received a setback after the town council raised objections.
The council's planning committee noted its previous concerns about the close proximity of the development - which includes parking and landscaping - to the conservation area.
The committee added the design of the building remains out of character with the street scene and is unsympathetic to properties in The Uplands and those near the cricket pitch, while insisting the front building is too bulky.
A town council spokesman said: "The council did not feel the amended plans addressed the original concerns about development on this site. It could set a dangerous precedent for the rest of the road."
