MP Elanor Laing has launched her General Election campaign.

The Epping Forest Conservative parliamentary candidate officially launched her 2015 General Election campaign by handing in her nomination papers and a £500 deposit to Returning Officer Glen Chipp at the Civic Offices, in High Road, Epping, this morning.

Mrs Laing, who has been the MP for Epping Forest for 18 years, handed in the papers a month ahead of the General Election polling day which will take place on May 7.

Mrs Laing said: “We always have a very good natured and constructive campaign here in Epping Forest and I’m sure it is going to be like that over the next month.

“This Election will be about several issues which I know people care about because, for the last eighteen years that I have had the privilege of being MP for Epping Forest, this is what they have been telling me.

“We want to see lower taxes, support for small businesses and workers, effective policing and immigration control, a free and efficient NHS, choice and opportunity in education, our precious Green Belt protected and a strong Britain playing a positive role.

“I am looking forward to discussing these and many other issues with the voters of Epping Forest, and the other candidates, over the next four weeks."
