A team of hairdressers have pledged their support to raise funds which will pay for one night's care at a children's hospice.
Lisa 'N' Girls hair salon in Station Road, Chingford, have signed up to Haven House Children's Hospice's year-long 'mission 365' scheme which challenges local business to each raise £1, 135.
Through raffles, auctions, bucket donations and challenges, manager Amy Kelly believes their involvement will make a "huge difference" for the High Road, Woodford Green-based charity.
The salon will launch a month-long raffle starting on April 27 and will feature several prizes donated by shops along Station Road. Staff will also auction a Tottenham Hotspur football shirt signed by up to 14 of the club's 'legends'.
Ms Kelly, 26, said: "I’m hoping we can easily achieve and surpass the £1,135 target.
"The money we would raise here would make a huge difference. I think it’s important to create awareness, especially of a local charity. We as a salon wanted to do more in the community."
If al 365 companies complete the mission, a whole year's worth of overnight care would be covered.
Mike Palfreman, chief executive of Haven House, added: "It costs £1,135 to provide a night of care for our children.
"For many of our exhausted parents and carers, that means a night of uninterrupted sleep, which really is an amazing gift that the local business community can provide to the parents of a seriously unwell child."
Businesses which have already completed the mission include Victor Michael in High Road, Woodford Green, Santander in Loughton and Repose Studio in Buckhurst Hill.
