A missing pensioner has been found dead.

The body of Stanley Nathanial Henry, 85, was discovered by police officers in the Paddington canal on April 7.

Mr Henry, from Stratford was an avid churchgoer who frequented places of worship in Leytonstone and Stratford.

He was last seen alive at 5pm on March 20, at St Mary's Hospital.

The Paddington Canal runs behind the hospital.

Formal identification has taken place.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stanley suffered from dementia and also went by the surname Bowry.
