The Epping Forest Guardian is asking each of the six parliamentary candidates in Epping Forest why people should vote for them in the general election on May 7.
Here, Anna Widdup of the Green party has given five reasons for people to vote for her.
1. The Green Party will protect the NHS. We will reverse the part privatisation that has already happened, so that no part of it will be run privately, for profit: all the funding will be used to improve services and make all appointments and treatment free at the point of use.
2. We will ban zero hours contracts and have a minimum wage of £10 an hour by 2020, so that jobs pay enough to live a decent life.
3. We will improve public transport. This will include bringing the railways back into public ownership, to reduce fares. Bus services will be reregulated nationally to create a more frequent service. We will also support free local transport for pensioners.
4. We will reverse austerity, abolishing the Bedroom Tax for disabled people, and fight to keep local services for everyone. Instead of imposing austerity, we will raise money by cracking down on tax avoidance, bringing in a wealth tax on the richest 1% of earners, and making big companies pay their fair share.
5. To reduce the effects of climate change (including flooding, extreme storms and altered weather patterns in the UK), we will invest in renewable energy, and in cutting the amount of energy we waste. We will work towards preserving our planet for future generations.
