A ‘selfie’ of a man who stalked a woman in her 20s after meeting her at an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting has been released by police.
The victim, from Leyton, was followed by the man for a year after they met at an AA meeting in March last year.
The man introduced himself as a solicitor and offered the woman help to fill out a form.
After several AA meetings, it became apparent he was not a solicitor and attempted to initiate a sexual relationship.
Police said he turned up at meetings attended by the victim even though she changed the times and location several times.
A police spokesman said: "He has told people that they are in a consensual relationship and has chased her to her car and followed her into toilets."
The woman said she took the picture from a Facebook page, but police have been unable to explain the circumstances.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 4904215/15 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
