A children’s hospice has announced Christopher Biggins as its celebrity ambassador.

The actor and TV personality has accepted the invitation to increase his work for Haven House Children’s Hospice, in High Road, Woodford Green.

Mr Biggins has been supporting the hospice since late-2013, when he acted as auctioneer for the hospice’s annual Autumn Ball.

Since then, he has regularly visited the charity for the support group 'coffee morning mums'.

The Hackney resident joins The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) actor and presenter Mark Wright as the second celebrity ambassador for the Woodford Green charity.

The 66-year-old said: “I was really flattered to be invited to become an ambassador for this amazing charity and of course I said yes.

“It’s my local children’s hospice and it does fantastic work in the local community, so I’m really looking to forward to getting even more involved.”
