Two men arrested after a knife was found in a car they were travelling in will not face any charges.

The men, aged 24 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon during the early hours of yesterday (April 15).

Police on patrol in Chingford Mount Road began pursuing the vehicle at around 2.45am.

The car was stopped in nearby Genever Close and a knife (pictured) was seized by officers.

Police have confirmed both men have since been released and no further action will be taken.

A Met spokesman, said:"There was nothing linking the men to the knife found in the car. They refused to cop-operate with enquiries and there was no evidence the weapon had been handled or used in a crime."

Waltham Forest police uploaded an image on Twitter of the knife seized by police.
