A man was beaten and robbed outside a popular family venue at the weekend.

Police were called to the scene in the car park of the Kings Oak Hotel in Pauls Nursery Road, High Beech, at around 8.30pm on Saturday (April 18) following reports of a man being punched in the face and knocked to the ground during a robbery.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was held down and his black and silver Rolex watch worth several thousands of pounds was stolen.

The two suspects then fled the scene in a silver BMW 1 series and turned left out of the car park towards Loughton.
