The Guardian Series has asked each parliamentary candidate to list five reasons why they should become an MP at the General Election on May 7.

Here the Green Party's candidate for Chingford and Woodford Green, Rebecca Tully, explains why you should vote for her.

Secure our local hospital - Imagine everyone in your household buying and selling everything you do for each other. You’d be lost in admin in no time. The privatisation of our health service has led to fragmented service, private companies picking off 'profitable' treatments, and a £9billion increase in costs.

Nationally we will stop privatisation and restore the government’s duty to provide healthcare for everyone. Locally we will re-negotiate the private finance contracts that are strangling our local hospital with debt.  You can trust us on this and every other promise – just look at our elected MP Caroline Lucas’ record in Parliament.

Healthier air = healthier us - Everyone knows that we need clean air. Yet our high air pollution is leading to premature deaths and a drain on local services.  Nationally we will implement the World Health Organisation standards, locally we will make walking and cycling journeys easier, and all of us healthier.

3 An economy that works for everyone - The finance sector created the recession. We will stabilise it, regulate it and introduce a Robin Hood tax on financial transactions.

We will create one million green jobs and remove the measures that actually hinder secure work:  zero hours contracts, fit-for-work tests, sanctioning payments so people can’t even travel to job interviews.

4 Support for everyone - Whether looking for work, surviving in a low paid job or living with a disability you have been utterly failed by this government. Much of the inhumanity of our welfare system is down to our Conservative candidate personally. It’s taking lives and we will do something about it.  We will end the bedroom tax. It generates little money and hits disabled people.  We’ll reinstate the Independent Living Fund – a pot for severely disabled people.

Why does this matter for all of us? The cuts have hit the poorest worst. It's not being reported, it's wrong and it's storing up costly problems for the future.

5 I will listen - You've told me that this does not happen at the moment and that it frustrates you.  I will listen and respond. I will represent you. I’ll take action now to secure a sustainable future for all of us.
