The British Transport Police (BTP) are asking for anyone who may have witnessed a racist incident on the Victoria Line to come forward.
A man was travelling on the line between Seven Sisters and Kings Cross when he noticed another passenger spitting on the floor on Thursday, March 26.
He politely asked him to stop but then the man subjected the victim to a tirade of racial abuse.
The abuse lasted until the man exited the train at Kings Cross.
The incident happened at around 2.25pm.
PC Michael Willoughby said: “Incidents like this are rare, and I am sure anyone who witnesses the appalling behaviour will remember it.
“We are committed to ensuring the Underground remains a safe environment, and need any witnesses to come forward as we continue to investigate this incident.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference TSUB/B5 of 21/04/2015.
