A workman killed on a construction site last week has been named.
Romanian national Marian Nemit, 21, was working on the shop renovation in High Road, Leyton, on April 14, when a wall collapsed.
Emergency services were called to reports of a man being injured by a falling wall at around 11.20am.
Mr Nemit sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the Royal London Hospital where he later died.
A joint investigation by police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been launched.
Police tape can be seen through the scaffolding pipes at the construction site
Residents and shop workers reacted in shock to the 21-year-old's death and it is still not clear exactly how Mr Nemit came to his death.
Berdan convenience store worker, Karuna Karan, 30, was told the shop, formally known as Boom City, was being turned into a restaurant.
An inquest into the East Ham resident's death was opened and adjourned today at Walthamstow Coroner's Court.
A date for the inquest is yet to be scheduled.
