Police are warning businesses to secure their premises following a spate of burglaries in the north Chingford area.
The Chingford Green safer neighbourhood team (SNT) have been visiting businesses this week after six shops in Station Road and Sewardstone Road were targeted last week by burglars.
Between Friday and Sunday (April 17-19) two cafes in Station Road and two in Sewardstone Road, along with two hairdressers were broken into and cash was stolen from the tills.
PC Darren Brand from Chingford Green SNT, said: "There were a spate of non residential burglaries over the last week where cafes mainly but a couple of hairdressers too were targeted for the float money in the tills.
"Entry was forced on each occasion by removing glass panels from the front door or windows to the premises.
"Fortunately the two white male suspects only managed to get away with a small amount of cash on a couple of occasions.
"No one has been arrested."
PC Brand has been visiting businesses this week and offering crime prevention advice.
The SNT will brief residents about recent activity at the Chingford Green and Endlebury ward forum meeting on Monday (April 27) at Chingford Assembly Hall in Station Road.
PC Brand has been keeping residents up-to-date on Twitter.
