Two accountants have raised almost £10,000 after running the London Marathon.
Joel Kara and Lawrence Shafier of Haslers Accountants in Old Station Road, Loughton, ran the 26 mile race on Sunday (April 26) in a bid to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Mr Shafier raised £5,200 for the charity, which will go towards funding and promoting global research into the condition and help provide support to people affected, after completing the route in three hours and 18 minutes.
Mr Kara crossed the finish line in four hours and 54 minutes and raised £4,400.
The duo joined more than 38,000 runners who participated in this year's race, the highest number of people to take part since the first race in 1981.
Company chairman Laurence Jacobs said: "at Haslers, we are committed to working with organisations that make a real difference to people’s lives have set up our own registered charity, the Haslers Foundation, to co-ordinate our fundraising and other support for good causes.
"Our congratulations go to Lawrence and Joel for completing the marathon and raising funds for such good causes."
