A woman was cut free from her car following an accident on bank holiday Monday. 

Emergency services including two fire engines from Loughton and Waltham Abbey were called to Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey, yesterday at around midday. 

Officers arrived at the scene at 11.30am following reports of a colllision between a silver Vauxhall Astra and silver Vauxhall Zafira,

The 66-year-old female driver of the Zafira was trapped inside her car. 

Firefighters spent up to forty minutes using two sets of cutting equipment to free the woman. 

She was then taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with back injuries. 

The 71-year-old woman driver of the Astra was uninjured. 

No arrests were made.
