Two men have been arrested after a member of the public tailed a stolen tractor to a restaurant car park.
A 37-year-old man from Hutton and a 41-year-old from Romford were arrested around two hours after the tractor was taken from a farm in High Road, Chigwell on Saturday (May 2).
Police were called at 4.30pm by a witness who saw the vehicle being driven away from the farm and followed it towards Lambourne End, where it was left parked in a restaurant car park.
The driver of the tractor then left in a van driven by another man.
A search was carried out by police and the van was later seen in Abridge at about 6.20pm.
It was stopped by officers a few minutes later in Stapleford Abbotts.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and have been bailed until July 4 pending further enquiries.
