The three men were disturbed by the mother
A mother confronted burglars who broke into her home by smashing a window.
Police were called to a property in St Leonard's Road, Nazeing, at 11.30am on Friday.
Three men had smashed a rear window to gain access before being challenged by the mother, who was looking after her two young children at the time.
The men then fled through the front door empty handed.
Anyone with information is asked to call Loughton CID on 101.
