Six people have been detained following a police appeal for the whereabouts of a white lorry this morning.
The appeal followed a distressed call, which was made to Essex Police at 8.30am today (March 6) from someone who said they were in the back of a white lorry on the A414 at North Weald.
Police investigations established by 11am that the lorry the call was made from had travelled into the country and through Ashford in Kent at 7.07am this morning.
The lorry has now been located in Bedfordshire.
Six people who are believed to be in the country illegally have been detained by Bedfordshire Police.
