The country's youngest published baker is to give a short culinary master-class this weekend.

Rising star Amy-Beth Ellice from Ongar will appeat at Hobbycraft's in Hall Lane, Chingford, on Saturday (May 16).

The 17-year-old published her first seasonal recipe book, Amy's Baking Year, in November and counts Katherine Jenkins and Pixie Lott among her celebrity clients.

She set up her first cupcake and cake business aged 13 and her recipes were making headlines a year later.

The Essex A-level student and OK magazine columnist was inspired by her mum, Gillian, a former interior designer, and her ultimate cooking idols include Ina Garten, Nigella Lawson and Gizzy Erskine.

"I try not to eat everything I bake," the teenager said.

"I love to bake for others, as giving the gift of your time is one of the most special things you can share."

The event will take place from 12pm to 2pm.
