A fire in which killed a disabled man was caused by a cooker, an investigation has found.
Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the scene in Gravel Close, Chigwell at around 3.30pm on Sunday (May 10).
Three fire crews arrived at the scene and pulled an unconcious man from the building.
Despite neighbours efforts to stop the fire and rescue the resident, who is believed to have been in his 50s, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an invesigation the cause of the fire has been found to be a kitchen cooker which caught alight after being left on, the fire brigade has said.
The man, who is yet to be named, was found in the bedroom of the property.
Essex Police are treating the incident as non-suspicious.
The cause of death is currently unknown.
