A UKIP-supporting Waltham Abbey cafe waitress has entered the Big Brother house.

Harriet Jackson, who works at The Narrowboat Cafe in High Bridge Street, became the seventh housemate to enter the house in front of 1.8million viewers.

In an introductory video, the 22-year-old, who lives with her boyfriend and his two brothers in Enfield, said she was known as "cafe girl" and appeared on the show in a dress covered in pictures of fried eggs.

She later said she voted for UKIP and finds people that do not know what is going on in the country "embarrassing".

She said: "You can’t have an opinion if you don’t know what’s going on.

Explaining her backing for UKIP, she said: "We can’t let any more [immigrants] in.

"We are a tiny island. where do they think we’re all going to live?"

Describing Harriet cafe manager, Nicky Salvoatar, said: "We are supporting Harriet the whole way.

"She is a valuable team member and you will find out what she is like as the show goes on.

"She has a heart of gold but also a mouth.

"That is what the customers come in for - Harriet's banter."

Big Brother is set to continue on Channel 5 at 9pm tonight.
