Staff at a restaurant hosted a charity golf tournament in a bid to raise much-needed funds for a children's hospice this week.

La Sala, in Chigwell Road, Woodford, hosted the match on Monday (May 11) at Woolston Manor Golf Club in Abridge Road, Chigwell in hopes of raising money for Haven House Children's Hospice, which supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions.

The event, which saw celebrities such as Tottenham Hotspur player Harry Kane and former footballers David Bentley, Ossy Ardiles and Paul Miller, raised £3,914.

Following the tournament golfers and guests headed to the Chigwell restaurant for drinks, canapés and a raffle.

The top raffle prize was two VIP ringside tickets including Hospitality at the O2 Arena donated by boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.

La Sala's Tene Sommer said: "La Sala would like to thank all the suppliers for donating amazing gifts for the raffle.

"The total amount raised for Haven House Children's Hospice was £3,914. 

"The teams enjoyed amazing playing conditions, plenty of sun with low wind and breathtaking scenery."
