An air ambulance was scrambled to treat a man suffering head injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on the M25.
Paramedics, police and the fire service attended the scene, near junction 26 for Waltham Abbey, at 10.20am on Friday (May 15) following reports of a collision between four cars and a lorry.
One rapid response car, two ambulances, an air ambulance and a paramedic officer were all dispatched to the scene.
One man, who was the driver of a car, was treated at the scene for head injuries before being flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for further care.
There were no further casualties.
