A Waltham Abbey cafe waitress has been named one of the bookies' favourites to win this year's Big Brother.

Harriet Jackson, who works at The Narrowboat Cafe in High Bridge Street, became the seventh housemate to enter the house in front of 1.8million viewers on Tuesday (May 12).

Miss Jackson entered the house almost a week ago, introducing herself as a café girl who voted for UKIP.

On Saturday (May 16) producers of the show announced to housemates that an online poll had revealed that the 22-year-old was in the top three expected to win the 2015 show.

A shocked Harriet, who cried following the announcement, then told Big Brother that she believed housemates would treat her differently after finding out she was popular with the public.

Bookies are currently placing Harriet's winning odds at 7-1, shortly behind Plymouth's Jack McDermott and Margate's Danny Wisker.

When asked if she believed housemates would now treat her differently Harriet said: "I think things could start to get tactical with voting if people are in it to get the dough.

"Do you know what I mean?"
