A music academy has launched classes for children as young as three months in a bid to help with creative development.

Loughton Music Academy in High Road, Loughton, launched the new classes for children aged three months to six years on Thursday (May 14).

The classes, which will see youngsters taught in groups of six to 10 children, will focus on developing skills from language and self-expression to social and self-esteem.

Cliff Cooper, from Loughton Music Academy said: “Music has an enormous part to play in a child’s early development.

“It can encourage language and listening skills, help self-expression, improve social skills, stimulate imagination and learning, develop self-esteem and improve co-ordination.

“In addition music can develop and generate happy memories, enhance understanding of rhythm and timing, help children understand emotions and provide them with an opportunity to experiment with sound and words.”
