Children will be able to explore the history of animals found roaming in ancient woodland and the basics of physics at two upcoming family-themed events.

The City of London Corporation, which manages Epping Forest, is hosting the half-term events at The View and Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge, in Rangers Road, Chingford.

The first event on May 27 from 1pm to 4pm, will focus on 'air' where it comes from and what it is made of. Children can get stuck in by making paper windmills and kites.

On May 29 from 1pm to 4pm, the Corporation will explore new animal species that have been introduced to Epping Forest over the years, including species of rabbits and deer.

Children can make Canada moose cut-outs and Muntjac deer masks as well as learn tracking skills by following the 'footprints' of the animals around The View.

There is £1 drop-in fee and no booking is required with free entry for under 3s.
