A secondary school is holding a charity event to mark the 10th anniversary of a young boy's death at Whipps Cross Hospital.

Shoaib Hussain was born with an enlarged heart in December 2000. He passed away aged four on May 23 2005.

To mark the anniversary, a charity event raising money for the Leytonstone hospital's acorn ward is taking place at Rushcroft Secondary School in Rushcroft Road, Chingford from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday (May 24).

Shoaib's mother Nazia Sahall has donated thousands of pounds worth of gifts and medical equipment over the years to care units in memory of her son.

In 2006, she donated £1,400 worth of sensory room equipment and an adjustable frame enabling children to walk to the Wood Street Heath Centre in Linford, Road, Walthamstow.
