A driver has been charged with stabbing a man near a nightclub after a car was stopped in Waltham Forest during a number plate operation.
Andre Anderson, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested in High Road, Leyton, at around 9.30am on Wednesday during a routine Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) operation.
He was held on suspicion of attempted murder and charged yesterday (May 21) with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and possession of a knife.
Detectives launched an appeal for information last month after a 45-year-old man had been slashed across the neck close to the 77 Social Club in Dalston Lane.
Police were called at 4.25am on April 6 to reports of a man injured in Lower Clapton Road.
The stab victim was taken to an east London hospital in a serious, but not life-threatening condition.
Anderson is due to appeear at Thames Magistrates Court today.
