Paramedics rushed to assist an elderly man who was found unconscious after a High Street fall yesterday.
Two East of England Ambulances were called to the scene in High Road, Loughton, at around 2.40pm following reports of a man in his 70s tripping and hitting his head.
Both ambulances were on the scene within five minutes.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene for a head injury before transporting him to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for further care.
His condition is believed to be serious but not life threatening.
