A community picnic is set to take place on Wanstead Flats next month as part of the Big Lunch initiative.
The national scheme, which is encouraging people across the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June, is being embraced by the Aldersbrook community.
Organised by Martyn Hawkes of Aldersbrook's St Gabriel's Church, the picnic will begin at 12pm on June 7, opposite the church on Aldersbrook Road.
