Plans to build homes on green belt land have been resubmitted almost three years after they were initially rejected.
The proposal, lodged last week, plans to erect 79 residential units on land currently occupied by Knollys Nursery in Pick Hill, Waltham Abbey, alongside the development of an associated children's nursery.
The development, which in 2012 seeked permission to build 114 houses and 50 apartments as well as a health centre, pharmacy, convenience shop, parking, roads and a green, was initially rejected following a 600 signature petition opposing to it due to fears over road safety.
Waltham Abbey Town Council also objected to the plan, calling the development 'intrinsically too large' for the town.
New proposals plan to develop less than 50 per cent of the original dwellings on the green belt land, with 63 proposed to be affordable.
