A man is being held by police following a third knife attack in Chingford. 

Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to reports of a man stabbed in Bernwell Road, yesterday afternoon (June 11) at just after 2pm. 

London's Air Ambulance attended and landed nearby in a field opposite Bluehouse Road.

A man in his late 40s was rushed to hospital suffering from stab injuries, and a 50-year-old man was also taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. 

The 50-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of greivous bodily harm (GBH) and taken to an east London policce station where he remains in custody. 

A weapon was recovered by officers nearby.

A spokeswoman for LAS, said: "We were called at 2:03pm to reports of a stabbing at an address near Chingdale Road.

"We sent a number of resources to the scene including London's Air Ambulance, an ambulance crew and a motorcycle responder.

"We treated a patient for stab wounds.

"He were taken by land ambulance to hospital as a priority."

This is third knife attack in Chingford in a week after a 16-year-old was stabbed in Hall Lane by the junction with Sinclair Road last Thursday. 

He was then stabbed a second time along with a 15-year-old boy in Withy Mead, Chingford, at around 6.30pm on Monday. 

Three teenagers aged between 15 and 17 charged in connection with both stabbings have denied GBH and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on June 24.
