A 50-year-old man will appear in court charged in connection with a third knife attack in Chingford last week.

Darren Warren, of Bernwell Road, Chingford, was charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) on Friday after a man in his late 40s was stabbed the day before at around 2pm.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to reports of a man suffering from stab wounds in Bernwell Road at just after 2pm.

London's Air Ambulance attended and landed nearby in Heathcote Secondary School's playing field in Bluehouse Road.

A man in his late 40s was rushed to hospital suffering from stab wounds and Warren was also taken to hospital.

He was later discharged and arrested on suspicion of GBH.

Warren was remanded in custody over the weekend to appear at Thames Magistrates Court today.

The incident was reportedly the third knife attack in Chingford in a week after a 16-year-old was stabbed in Hall Lane by the junction with Sinclair Road on June 4.

He was then stabbed a second time along with a 15-year-old friend in Withy Mead, Chingford, at around 6.30pm on June  8.

Three teenagers aged between 15 and 17 charged in connection with both stabbings have denied GBH and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on June 24.
