A large group of travellers have evacuated a site after being presented with an eviction notice, a college has claimed.
Around 10 caravans and seven vans broke into the Middle Block of Epping Forest College in Borders Lane, Loughton, on June 11 at around 11am.
The group were said to have broken down one of two metal gates which secure three structurally unsound buildings damaged after being targeted by vandals last month.
Despite claims by the college that the travellers had initially promised to leave the site on June 13, the group remained on the land for another week.
On Thursday (June 18) the college, who were working in collaboration with Essex Police, presented the group with an eviction notice.
All of the vehicles had evacuated the site by 10am on Saturday (June 20).
The travellers left behind rubbish and waste following their departure.
Epping Forest College Spokeswoman Ms Gebka said that although the travellers have gone, rubbish and waste, which the college must pay to have removed, was left behind.
She said: "We handed over the eviction notice on Thursday and the travellers were gone by Saturday morning.
"We are glad they have gone as it was concerning residents and everyone involved.
"A mess has been left behind which we will have to pay to remove as it is private land.
"The college are now looking at plans regarding the future of the Middle Block.
"Nothing is set in concrete yet though."
