A shocking video has been released of two men attacking a shopkeeper and his wife after being refused entry to their store.
A man entered the Romanian Mini-Market in High Road, Leyton, on May 24 as the owner attempted to close the shutter of his store at 8.20pm.
The CCTV footage shows a man forcing entry to the store through the door.
When the man is asked to leave, he becomes abusive and attacks the shopowner.
The 42-year-old shopowner shouts for help and the victim's wife can be seen rushing to his aid, before being punched in the face by a second attacker.
Police said the male shopowner suffered a split lip in the assault and was taken to hospital and his 36-year-old wife suffered minor injuries that were treated at the scene.
Police described the first attacker as a white man of large build and 5ft 7ins tall with a bald head. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts.
The second attacker is described as a white man of medium build and 5ft 9ins tall with dark hair wearing a dark coloured t-shirt.
