A popular Indian restaurant was partially damaged by fire yesterday.
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to Star of India in High Road, Leytonstone, at 4.10pm.
Eleven people had left the restaurant before the fire brigade arrived.
The shops ground floor was partially damaged by the blaze and the road remained closed for more than two hours while the fire was extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
