Police are on the hunt to trace two men after an elderly woman from Chingford was scammed out of £300 and had two credit cards stolen.

The two men pictured are wanted in connection with fraud after they were captured on CCTV in Tottenham using a stolen credit card belonging to the victim on April 30.

The 80-yea-old resident was at home when she received a phone call from a man stating he was a police officer at around 10.30am.

The man told her fraudulent activity had occurred on her bank account and asked her for her PIN numbers to two credit cards, which she gave him over the phone.

She was then instructed to go to the bank and withdraw £5,000 so she attended her local bank but staff were suspicious and refused the withdrawal.

After returning home, she told the fraudster she did not have the money but he reassured her someone would turn up at her home to collect two bank cards.

A short while later a male arrived at her home and collected two cards.

Police are keen to speak to the two men pictured after they both used the stolen cards at a Post Office ATM in Cambridge Road, Tottenham, between 1.10pm and 1.15pm on April 30.

A withdrawal of £300 was made on one of the cards, but attempts to withdraw cash using the second card were scuppered as it had already been reported as stolen and was retained by the ATM.

Anyone with information about the incident should call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org quoting the reference number 4908523/15.
