A public swimming pool is closed this morning after a major power failure overnight.
Chingford Leisure Centre, formally known as Larkswood, in New Road, Chingford, was closed this morning following a power outage overnight.
Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) which runs the counci facility has said the pool remains closed but the gym and studio have recently re-opened.
A council spokesman, said: "There was a major power outage overnight, which meant the leisure centre could not open on time this morning.
"Electricians were called first thing and the power is now back on, and the gym and studio are open.
"Unfortunately the pool currently remains closed while engineers fix an issue with the circulation pumps."
It is not known when the pool will re-open.
