Hundreds of people turned out to celebrate the reggae music and carnival colours of the Leyton Big Weekender.
The family festival kicked off on Saturday (July 4) with sporting activities, a roller disco and carnival games held in Leyton Cricket Ground in Crawley Road.
On Sunday, Leyton High Road was bursting with life as colourful animal costumes including owls, ladybirds and a giant turkey, paraded through under the theme ‘creatures great and small’.
Willowbrook, Mayville, Our Lady and St George's Primary Schools particularly impressed with their creatures competing admirably against the adult designs.
The returning Carribean carnival-goers were then treated to musical performances from reggae pioneers Aswad and headliners The Real Thing.
Island Waves DJ, Scrappy, Camara, Amy Young and Cerebro Dance Troupe also entertained the crowds.
A giant Turkey was spotted in Leyton High Road during the celebration.
