A body has been recovered from a forest following a sudden death.
Police were called to Larks Wood forest in Chingford on Sunday (July 5) at around 7pm.
Police taped off access to the playing field and wooded area in Normanshire Drive, Inks Green and Ropers Avenue.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard, said: "It was a sudden death in the forest.
"A report has been prepared for the coroner and the death is not being treated as suspicious."
Further details are yet to be released by police.
Inks Green resident Jason Sparey, 34, returned home to see police taping off an entrance to the forest.
He said: "Police pulled up and started taping off the forest at around 8pm.
"A short while later the police car drove off but officers were still in the forest.
"We asked what was going on as our son was playing in the woods with his friends, but police would not say.
"At around midnight, a private ambulance arrived and a dead body in a bag was wheeled out on a stretcher."
More to follow.
