A Walthamstow police officer has been pictured with a giant knife which was recovered during a street sweep.
The weapon, labelled a ‘zombie knife’ was discovered by Higham Hill ward officer PC Ware, a Tweet from the Met revealed, yesterday.
However, police claimed today they are unable to confirm the exact location of the find due to officers’ rest days.
A Tweet claims the knife was found in Hackney by the E17 based officer.
Under Operation Omega police carry out searches of their own area to look for weapons which may be stashed in public spaces.
Sweeps of Walthamstow in recent weeks have also been successful and smaller knives taken off the streets.
Zombie knives, sold in the United States, are designed to arm people in the event of a “zombie apocalypse” according to retailers.
