A new fashion in how to keep fit has arrived in Radlett. It’s called aerobics.

Aerobics is described as a science of keep fit to music, with the aim of toning up the body and forcing oxygen into every part of the system.

It started in California. Its disciples include Jane Fonda, who wrote a best-selling book on it, and Diana Ross, whose latest single, Work That Body, is written with aerobics in mind.

Now aerobics is catching on in Radlett and Elstree, thanks to actress and dancer Sandra Hale who has just opened classes with her own special version.

Sandra swears by aerobics, saying it has kept her fit enough to handle a whole day of lessons from 9.15am to 10.15pm at the Upstairs Downstairs beauty clinic in Watling Street, Radlett.

The Monday sessions are divided into hour-long aerobics lessons which cost about £2 each.

“I call it Sandrobics or Aerobicize,” said Sandra. “It’s really a mixture of the best techniques of Jane Fonda’s aerobics and my own special tips.”
