Here is a first look at Damon Albarn’s reworking of Alice in Wonderland for the digital age.
The Leytonstone-raised singer has written the music for the show named wonder.land which premiered at the Manchester International Festival last week and will come to the National Theatre stage in November.
It features a character named Aly, a mixed-up, mixed-race girl, who escapes into the colourful world of the internet where she meets her avatar or alter ego Alice.
The story written by Lewis Carroll marks its 150th anniversary this year and Damon has previously said it fascinated and frightened him as a child.
Booking for the National Theatre performances is now open.
