A Walthamstow resident is among thirteen people who have been charged following a protest at Heathrow Airport.
Melanie Strickland, 32, of Borwick Avenue, Walthamstow was charged with aggravated trespass and entering a security restricted area of an aerodrome along with 12 others allegedly from anti-airport expansion protest group, Plane Stupid.
The runway was closed for almost three hours yesterday morning, with 13 flights cancelled, as demonstrators protested against expansion plans.
The runway opened 20 minutes late but flights were able to leave from the southern runway, an airport spokesman.
They will all appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 19.
