Motorists are advised to avoid the A12 and surrounding routes this morning as over-running re-surfacing works are causing long delays.
The A12 between the A106 Lea Interchange and the Old Ford was closed this morning until 7.40am as a result of the over-running works, but one lane has recently re-opened.
There are queues back to both the Green Man and Redbridge Roundabout, and as far back as Newbury Park.
The A12 southbound at Rebridge Roundabout has also been closed in the last five minutes.
The A406 and M11 is congested due to heavy traffic with queues as far back as the Barking flyover, Gants Hill roundabout, Waterworks Roundabout in Woodford and the Billet Roundabout in Walthamstow.
Update: A12 East Cross Route - still closed S/B (overrunning works). Qs to Redbridge & onto A406. A12 qs to Gants Hill Rbt. Severe delays.
